Four disturbed theft suspects, among them two cops, were on Wednesday captured by specialists after supposedly getting back to a scene which they had recently scoured in late July.

Corporal Benson Kitheka Mutisya and Police Constable Kennedy Muriuki Gathatu, both connected to the Directorate of Criminal Examinations (DCI) in Kamukunji, were secured close by one Mutenge Mbeti (36) and Lewis Ndirangu Kariuki (32).

On July 31, 2023, the quartet allegedly ran over Robinson Mogaka, a student at Machakos University, in his car on Kenyatta Road in Juja, Kiambu County, and stole the vehicle.

Mogaka, who had leased the vehicle, was on the way to Machakos from Embu where he had gone to a confidential capability.

“On arriving at Kenyatta Street in Juja, he was hindered by a white engine vehicle enrollment number KCX 965B,” a police report seen by Resident Computerized peruses to a limited extent.

“Three men outfitted with a gun cuffed him and constrained him (Mogaka) to take them to his companion’s Abdulrahaman Juma house which he did.”

The outfitted looters purportedly constrained Mogaka to fuel their vehicle at a Complete gas station in Marurui prior to going to Juma’s home.

In the wake of showing up at Juma’s home, they allegedly moved Ksh.85,000 from Mogaka’s telephone and another USD 4,300 (Ksh.614,040) from the Binance records of the two casualties prior to making their escape.

Mogaka and Juma not long after revealed the occurrence to the DCI who initiated examinations.

The analysts would on Wednesday purportedly get word that the four suspects were anticipating looting Juma’s home indeed.

“DCI officials laid a snare and captured four people among them the two cops. Corporal Kitheka was outfitted with a Jericho gun S/No. KEKP 44338928 and a Huawei pocket telephone radio,” read the police report.

“Likewise kept are two engine vehicles, a white Toyota Auris reg.no KCX 965B and a red Volkswagen Polo reg.no. KCC 501S.”

The suspects are presently being held at Juja Police headquarters forthcoming lawful activity.
